About us
A wealth and depth of knowledge.
Khumo is a Tswana word meaning “wealth”. Of course, part of the reason we chose it as our name is because it’s at the heart of what we do – which is to look after and grow our clients’ wealth. But it also reflects how we do that – which is to use our wealth of rare knowledge and specialist expertise to create exceptional, bespoke investment solutions. All while contributing positively to the lives of people we work for and with, and the broad community we work in.
Transformation:
Intentionality
with
integrity.
Our vision is to be a market-leading Black owned, controlled and managed specialist asset manager.
Empowerment is an integral part of what we want to achieve, and from the start we’ve been clear that genuine transformation will be central to our company.
Khumo Capital has been majority Black owned and controlled since day one. Both our Board of Directors and our senior management are 75% Black and 50% Black female. A key focus is to develop, nurture and support opportunities for young Black talent.
Responsible investing:
Custodianship
with
care.
We proactively and habitually integrate environmental, social and governance (“ESG”) factors into our investment decisions. There are two reasons for this.
First, it’s simply the right thing to do. We all have an obligation, to our planet and to each other, to make a positive difference environmentally and socially. We have a responsibility to do this as much, and as well, as we’re able to.
Second, investing in ethical, responsible companies will create better financial outcomes for our clients by reducing the risk of loss.
